Discipline romance is one of those genres that gets misunderstood — a lot.
People hear “spanking,” “obedience,” or “control,” and they immediately assume it’s about cruelty, humiliation, or stripping away a character’s strength.
They couldn’t be more wrong.
When written right, discipline romance is about trust, intimacy, and fierce protection. It’s about characters — usually strong-willed heroines — learning what it means to surrender to a partner who not only cherishes them, but takes full responsibility for them.
The heroes in my Timber Creek series aren’t abusers.
They’re protectors.
Men like Harry Coal and Wade Dalton don’t hurt their women for fun — they guide them, hold them accountable, and love them harder than anyone else ever could. And yes… sometimes that comes with a firm hand or a strict rule.
What people get wrong about discipline romance is assuming the heroine is weak.
But it takes real bravery to trust someone with your heart, your body, and your submission. These women are bold, stubborn, wild — and their happily-ever-after isn’t about losing that fire… it’s about finding someone strong enough to handle it.
That’s the kind of story I love to write.
 That’s Timber Creek.
And if you’re reading this, maybe it’s your kind of story too.
